I had an awesome time at home in Columbia this weekend! I love Spring and Summer. It is my favorite time of year. Nothing makes me feel more at home then cooking and getting projects done around the house.
Here are the three things I love about this post:
- I am OBSESSED with this Lululemon romper! It comes in three colors and I bought it in all three this year. The name of it is the Sweaty or Not Runsie. It is from last year, but I bought it on eBay (so you can still get it). I know it will be perfect for running around in during the summer, working out or just staying cool when the humidity turns up. Also, how can you resist the party pony and heart shaped aviators?! (message me if you want info on sizing!)
- We planted our entire garden this past weekend! (check out the raised bed boxes in the background). We spent the morning at Strawberry Hill Farms, our favorite garden center, and planted spinach, onions, peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, herbs and of course so many flowers! I try to eat as cleanly as possible when traveling but it can get tough… especially when you are in the Atlanta airport in the middle of the night staring at a giant chocolate chip cookie. Eating healthy is a huge value of mine and nothing is more rewarding then coming home to a counter full of fresh veggies that you slaved over for months. When I eat healthy I feel better about myself, my body and I have more energy to stay positive when I travel as much as I do.
- Finally, it is so rare that I get a weekend at home, let alone in the Spring. April is my favorite month, because it is my birthday, and everything is coming back to life! I feel so blessed to have some downtime to get my hands in the dirt, enjoy the warm weather, not wear makeup (My skin is rejoicing!) and relax, it is how I hit the recharge button. I know it sounds lame but when I cook or get in my garden I feel like I am home. I think this is because I feel so guilty every time I leave Brendon, Dexter and Betty because I am not there to help out or be the wife I want to be. So every second I get at home I am constantly making up for lost time.
With all of the travel, I am always on full speed ahead, even when I get a weekend at home I fill it with errands, time with friends and work. My life has been so crazy over these past few months I am so thankful for a minute to enjoy the sunshine, the promise of spring and of course my time at home with the bae!
