There Are No Words…

IMG_1722This past weekend I was given the opportunity to speak at Alpha Delta Pi’s Leadership Seminar. I have been looking forward to this opportunity for MONTHS now. There are no words I can use to express how amazing my weekend was… But I will try. Here were the best parts of my time with Alpha Delta Pi:

      • I spent the entire day on Saturday with the Recruitment & Marketing teams from every single ADPi chapter across the country. I don’t know what heaven feels like, but I am confident my heaven is a room full of bright, capable, and fun women who also… happen to love recruitment.  As the day was wrapping up, I looked down from the stage at the women who organized the day and literally teared up.  I whispered to them from the stage, “I am so sad today is over!” It was perfect, amazing and all ended way too quickly for me.  The dedication of these young women to their peers, sisters and friends is inspiring.

The RMDs organized a little lip sync… here are my takeouts.

Here is My Snap Story from the weekend!

  • The RMD’s… Recruitment & Marketing Directors for ADPi are high level volunteers who manage the recruitment from a International level of each chapter.  They are flawless, fierce and fabulous. I spent a day with them in March at Alpha Delta Pi Executive Offices and I immediately got FOMO.  I felt like I was seeing a group of women who understood each other, made room for each other and lived for each other.  This weekend and this track was their brain power and their blood, sweat and tears.  The vision they have is remarkable. I have never seen anything like it and I see a lot of recruitment. I tell the team constantly that I am impressed, but in case they think I was just blowing smoke… I am saying it here in print so they know I mean it!IMG_1740
  • There is a lot of humility in this job. I try to stay humble and hungry. It is crazy that a room of 1,000 sorority women, from every walk of life, would ever listen to me… like anything I would ever say matters. I did the closing Keynote for Alpha Delta Pi on Sunday morning. I gave it everything I had. Speaking is like taking little pieces of your heart and throwing it into every corner of a ballroom. For a little piece of history, Alpha Delta Pi was the first ever secret society created for college women. Every single person who has ever laughed, learned or benefited from their sorority has Alpha Delta Pi to thank. So, thank you for the greatest gift of my life, a support system of women who selflessly give it everything they have got every day. I do it of you. I’ll give you my entire heart as long as it serves you.

This weekend was EXACTLY what I needed in my life. I have 33 days until I begin August – AKA – My Sorority Recruitment Revival Tour! ADPi filled my bucket over the past two days and I cannot wait to hit the ground running.

KJ, you were AMAZING this weekend! I had the privilege of seeing all your hard work both on Saturday and Sunday, and was truly impressed at how much of yourself you gave in your presentations. As an advisor, I am constantly looking for ways to connect with and inspire my chapter women, and came away from LS inspired by YOU! Thank you so much for spending the weekend with us in Dallas.
