For the next two weeks I will be pretty much on the West Coast. I love it out here! I flew to Los Angeles on Friday and I will be in the Pacific Time Zone until the 20th of September. When I first moved to Missouri, it was a total culture shock. Here are my favorite aspects of being out on the West coast for a month:
- The healthy food: Being health conscious is absolutely trending right now and Left Coast people are leaning in! There are thousands of awesome new pop-up restaurants to try where you can easily get locally crafted meals. Some of my favorites are Cafe Yumm and Evergreens. Also, the chapter houses have amazing snacks as well. They have loads and platforms of delicious fruit! I have eaten plums, peaches, watermelon, apples and nectarines at these chapter houses for snacks in between my busy speaking schedule. It is amazing to have access to awesome food that helps me keep up with my healthy lifestyle.
- The fitness: Because of the time change, it has been easier for me to get up at 5:00 am and go out for a run. Running in Seattle is honestly beautiful. Watching the sun rise over the Cascade Mountains and the city skyline is the best way to start my day. I love beginning my day with a great workout because it helps me feel positive and accomplished for the remainder of the day. I feel like I am soaking up the last minutes of summer when I am getting time outdoors this time of year.
- Playing Tourist: Because there is less travel and more down time I get to play tourist. Last night I met up with my good friend Amelia and her awesome group of friends from college and we went on a late night Seattle Underground tour. I LOVE the Seattle Underground tour! It is honestly one of my favorite things to do in the city if I am showing around a visitor. I think it is a great history lesson as well as fun, interactive and a little cheeky. I also get to visit my favorite restaurants, shops and spots in town shamelessly because I am technically here for work!
Only a few more weeks of traveling left but I am absolutely going to make the most if it! I hope you all had an awesome Labor Day weekend. I know I enjoyed the days I worked!
