The First Fall Weekend of 2016

Last weekend was PACKED full of fun and activities at home in CoMo! I was happy to get a little grounded for a few days and not have to travel. As you might know, I flew yesterday morning and spoke last night. Today I am flying BACK home and will be there until Sunday! Here are the highlights from my weekend!

img_97931) On Friday night I attended Tiger’s On The Prowl Charity Auction on behalf of the Heart of Missouri Girls On The Run organization. This is a pretty wonderful organization that raises thousands of dollars for 10 local not-for-profit groups in town a year. The board selects 10 charities to contribute to each year and for 2016, GOTR was selected! Studying non-profit management in graduate school made me a total nerd for events like these! I love learning about the fantastic things people are doing to better their community! It was a great time and I was honored to attend!

img_39212) My dear friend Megan Ogar invited me to Sunrise Yoga at Stephens Lake Park on Saturday morning. We got there at 6:15 and class began at 6:30. I was able to walk there from my house and you all have no idea how magical this morning was. The sky was just warming up when we got started and the sun was peaking over the trees when we finished. The lake was foggy and I cannot image a more beautiful way to start any morning! Afterword, Megan, her cousin Laura, and I grabbed breakfast at my NEW FAVORITE restaurant in Columbia, Nourish Cafe. Everything is so clean, local, organic and pure. It is all pretty delicious too! Get the sausage gravy breakfast if you go!

3) Finally, I attended my FIRST FOOTBALL GAME of the Fall! I was so happy to tailgate, get img_2974geared up in gold and do the dang thing! The only downside is that it was HOT. I mean it put August games to SHAME. I met up with all of my great friends, Cara Stuckel and Megan Ogar again to tailgate at the Kappa Delta Alumni tailgate. Then when we headed into the stadium, we were thankful to get seats in the shade. Unfortunately it was a blowout so we left a little early to get out of the heat. We went to Addison’s, another awesome restaurant in town to grab dinner as a group. Then… I went to bed at 8:30! (Because I am so cool!)

It was truly a perfect weekend at home! I am so thankful for a more relaxed travel schedule!
