I hit the road again for the first working day of 2017!
- I traveled to Waco, Texas to work with a chapter at Baylor. Now I have been to Baylor a few times before… and I think these students are great. They are super respectful, awesome participators and absolutely a talented group of students. I have enjoyed all of my trips to this school and this recent visit was no different! Not to mention the campus gets more beautiful every time I visit!
- Now this was actually the first time I got to do anything cool in Waco. Take the word cool lightly… because I generally drive in and drive out… So when I say cool that means I ate at a restaurant. One thing about Waco is it is pretty hard to get to. It is 100 miles from any real airport and that can be a lot of work. When I went to lunch with the leadership of the chapter, they told me all about the Silos District and the revitalization of some awesome old buildings. We went to a great local restaurant for lunch called the Olive Branch Bakery & Café. I have to say next time I go, I will need to actually visit some neat places!
- It felt GREAT to be on the road again. I think when you do my job for a living, whenever you have time off it is such a relief but you always have this deep fear that you will get a little rusty. I loved getting to work with this group and helping them, but also reminding myself why I love my job so much.
This quick trip was a perfect way to begin 2017! I am hitting the road hard over the weekend so stay tuned!
** PS- I am including a Shop This Post because I had enough women ask about my poncho!
