This past week I spent two nights in Milledgeville, Georgia… the home of Georgia College & State University. I visited campus for two different reasons, #1 was to speak to the entire Panhellenic community on Saturday… and #2 was to visit the Kappa Delta chapter! This is a pretty special chapter for me, check back in on Wednesday to read the blog about why I LOVE this chapter!
- The programing was amazing. I have been working with their Panhellenic team, Tiffany & Bethany for about 6 months to get the curiculum just right . I was stressing out about wether or not it would be good enough, or unique, or meet their needs. I had an outpouring of positive feedback from so many wonderful college women throughout the day. I feel like it met my high standards I have for myself as well as helped some amazing people in the room. It was a beautiful day on Saturday.
- Throughout the week Kappa Delta hosted me and did an amazing job showing me around town and giving me the best of the Milly experience! There are a few fun restaurants in town! We ate at Metropolis for dinner one night, and I splurged on tazjikie sauce with my Greek Spinach salad! I love greek food! After that they took me to Sweet Treats which is this adorable ice cream shop where they mix in an assortment of different toppings into your ice cream and pump it through a machine to make it a fun soft serve kind of situation! I absolutely fell in LOVE with Aubri Lane’s restaurant, which had Pimento Cheese, Salmon dinner and an awesome wine list!
- I got to stay at my HANDS DOWN FAVORITE place I have ever stayed, the Antebellum Inn in MIlledgeville. This is my second time staying here and both times I have been in the Garden room… and I almost cry every time I am in there… I LOVE IT. The hosts are kind, and thoughtful. There is wonderful breakfast in the morning and an assortment of wine and snacks in the evening. Speaking of awesome hosts, my sisters in Kappa Delta brought me a great coffee mug and spa kit from their sisterhood retreat, a shirt and most importantly some Pimento cheese… made by their grandmother. I cried. and I ate it, almost immediately.
I hope you all had an awesome weekend! I am leaving early on Wednesday to speak again this weekend.
